12 days on the road:
5875.2 miles, 12 days, 16 states, driving from the east where I’m from to Utah and across the south, I carefully observe and photograph the features of this landscape that would be considered mundane or common to the local but are fascinating to me, I look inwards to focus on my first impressions, and what I’m drawn to visually, also commenting on the vast beauty of these places which are now more than ever at risk of development and eventual destruction. I also worked between media, photographing digitally, on medium format film, and tin type, a historical labor intensive analog process requiring a portable darkroom and careful use of chemistry in the harsh dry heat of the west.
