Collected caribou horns and a juvenile skull rest in the grass in Umiujaq, Quebec, on Aug. 6, 2025, marking the end of a 45-day, 700-kilometer canoe expedition through northern Quebec. The expedition followed a route from the La Forge Reservoir through the Seal Lakes, Lac à l’Eau Claire and the Rivière du Nord before reaching Richmond Gulf on Hudson Bay. The group collected the horns at significant points throughout the journey as markers of challenging stretches, successful food drops and personal milestones.
